I'm glad him and Artie had their little feud and he's not on as much. but he's so monotone and down on life he makes me want to OD on sleeping pills. Joe Matterese also seems like a nice guy. I feel like Artie does a good job at making him a part of the joke and bringing out the funny in him rather than making fun of him. He couldn't carry a show but with Artie it's always a good time. "that's funny, I got to give it to you that's funny, that was funny right there." Ok I get it, laugh, you don't have to say it was funny.Īgain, nice guy, but he's never going to get much farther unless he gets some speech therapy or something. He sounds like he's got balls in his mouth. but I'm getting annoyed at trying to decipher what he's saying all the time. He's actually pretty good about not butting in if Artie isn't talking to him but I could understand why people have a problem with Daddy.Ĭhris Cotton seems like a nice dude. I think Artie feels like he needs to rely on these other guys but in reality some of his best shows have just been him, or him and Dan. I guess that can be a good or bad thing depending on the person. I'm not exactly sure how to explain it, but you never really know what you're going to get. I think the show just lacks a little bit of structure. I enjoy the vibe, but I don't want to miss anything either.Īrtie really seems alert, motivated, and enthusiastic about his show this year. While the whole feel of the podcast is a bunch of buddies just sitting around bullshitting, they tend to talk over each other a lot. Sometimes they drop to a whisper, then I almost drive off the road in terror when Artie screams through my car speakers.Ĭontrol the chaos, but just a little bit. I have to adjust volume SO much when I listen to that podcast. If you need a good straight-man, get Matarese full-time.Ĭorrect the fucking levels. Artie Lange joins the Todd Shapiro Show and talks in length about his time on the Howard Stern Show, and what its like being a comic. He's not that funny and he disrupts the flow of conversation. Here are my thoughts on some immediate improvements that could be made: Certainly with the change of direction the HSS has taken in the last few years, there seems to be a void waiting to be filled, and a stable semi-sober Artie might be the guy to do it. So with the current surge in interest in Artie's podcast, I'm very curious to see what long-time HSS fans would want/expect from Artie.
